Food Sensitivity
Food Sensitivity Analysis
Food allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities are various types of reactions to the different foods you consume throughout the day.
A food intolerance or a food sensitivity occurs when a person has difficulty digesting a particular food. Food intolerances and sensitivities are much more common than overt allergies. It is estimated that food sensitivities/intolerances impact 15-20% of the global population. The most common symptoms associated with food intolerance and sensitivities are related to the gastrointestinal system, although complexion, mood and energy levels are also affected.
Overt food allergens prompt the production of immunoglobulin-E (IgE; think E for emergency), while a food sensitivity may result in an increased production of Immunoglobulins A, G or M (IgA, IgG, IgM). Distinguishing between these different antibodies is the most definitive way to differentiate between an allergy and a sensitivity.
Food allergy and sensitivity analysis is the most efficient method to identify foods that are causing inflammation or impairing your overall health . Through food sensitivity analysis, our team nutritionist will guide you through your food sensitivity results, create an individualized plan, and walk you through a period of eliminating the foods you are sensitive to, as well as when and how to reintroduce foods into your diet.
Food Sensitivity Analysis and Review
The first step is to book a 15-minute complimentary call to discuss if food sensitivity testing is right for you.
Once we have determined if a food sensitivity test makes sense to order, the test will be shipped to you with directions on how to collect the sample. It generally takes 3-4 weeks to process the results. Once the results are in, we will reach out to schedule a call to review the results with you.
